The Philadelphia Wind Symphony welcomes music lovers of all ages to our final concert of the 2012-13 season. Join us as Lieutenant Commander John Pastin, Dean of the College of Performing Arts and Director of Bands at Rowan University, takes the podium for this musical adventure. Featuring classic wind band works by Franck, Grainger, Maslanka, Persichetti, Saint-Saens, Smith and Toch.
The Philadelphia Wind Symphony is a volunteer ensemble comprised of 55 adults - all woodwind, brass or percussion players - who are semi-professional musicians, music teachers, art administrators, college students and music lovers. Our goal is to excite the community by bringing the best literature and performances of the band and wind ensemble tradition to Center City Philadelphia.
